Ironically the first update on the new Galatown Gala & Community Group website (created by myself) introduces me as the new chairperson. I’m also pleased to mention Yvonne. A friend and colleague who supports me as the new Vice. Our secretary and finance positions are held by our long dedicated committee members Linda and Wilma.
My first meeting as chair went well. That was filled with ideas and positive responses to new ideas brought to the table by myself and Yvonne. Present at the meeting was Shuggy Hughes. He was instrumental in ensuring my first meeting had facts and information that could only come from someone as experienced as him.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting about the things that the GGCG are/might be involved in shortly. As I type this I’m still learning and getting a feel for what the GGCG’s purpose is and what we can/can’t do. One of my first actions as chair is to create the GGCG website.
