I presented the idea of financially supporting parent groups within our local Schools i.e. to purchase supplies for an event or hire an entertainer. It will create a greater awareness of the GGCG and potentially bring more people to the Gallatown hub. My vision is to support community-orientated parents who may support us in return. The specifics need to be fleshed out, but the hope is that we may find more people to establish a Gala steering group through the additional connections we make.
The image attached to this post is the greenhouse I built for Pathhead as a volunteer. This is one of my early efforts to build connections on a personal level and I wish to continue doing this as Chair of our community group. Keep in mind we already have strong connections through Cairinne Macdonald and our local Schools. That is long established but a strategy of connecting with an ever-changing parent group isn’t in place.
