    2. Karen supported this.
    3. Margaret supported this.
  3. Future meeting approach
    1.  Agreement was made for an advance set of quarterly dates to be shared. Additional meetings can still be called to address pressing matters.
    2. Discussions on how to make connecting with our group easier for our community to attend meetings. Wendy suggested using WhatsApp to remind members of dates and times. To be further discussed. Until then, plans to organise future dates at the present meetings.

Other Business

  1. Claire mentioned creating a sensory board for the Wild Space. Something the workshop could support. It could also be done as a summer activity.
    1. Karen explained we have funding to cover upcycling that could support this.
  2. Karen mentioned renting the shed for a workshop and potential meeting place for the gardening group. She explained that we’re still awaiting a decision on the approach i.e. do we rent it or buy it.
    1. Ryan stated that it’s possibly problematic to buy it due to legality and the group needing insurance.
    2. Karen mentioned that Fiona is sending a YM/GCI relationship proposal to help address matters of insurance.
    3. Ryan is wondering how the Bike hub operates, either on YMCA insurance or it’s own?
    4. Karen presented a print of today’s bank account status which shows a fund that is meant to cover the cost of a shed – however that was meant for buying one. We should check with funders that they are happy for it to cover rental.
  3. Propose to Shuggy to rent the shed.
  4. Natalie Logan joined us mid-meeting and was updated.
  5. Karen mentioned Totem poles that were created by the community and are to be collected from Furniture Plus. They are to be installed at the hub.
  6. Ryan and Karen expressed gratitude for the turnout and being able to move forward with a full management committee.

Actions

  • untickedConfirm rental of workshop shed (owned by Gallatown Bike Hub) is the approach we should take.
    • untickedContact funders (FVA) regarding the portion of funds meant for a workshop and get their permission for it to cover rental. Potential breakdown of the entire amount? Keeping in mind that the original funding application was for more money and the smaller fund has affected our plans. This should be explained to FVA with indication that we are adapted.
    • untickedType a formal agreement for the Gallatown Bike Hub to sign.
    • untickedSign agreement with bike hub
    • untickedSend agreement to YM/Fiona
  • tickedArrange for Totem poles to be collected/delivered.
  • untickedArrange for the proposal using YM space to be printed for the next meeting.
